Keywords

Today in class I learned how to circle keywords. The point of circling keywords is to help understand the topic you are reading better. For example if the topic is about athletic sports, keywords like baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and tennis would be circled because those are words that represent the topic and point out the topic a lot more. Today my teacher Ms. Sarles gave us a lesson about if their is a numerous amount of keywords for just one topic, only circle a limit amount of words. The reason for this is because too many different words can mix u up and by mistake you can circle unnecessary words that are not a keyword for the topic you are reading. It is important to circle keywords whenever you are reading an article in a newspaper, reading a passage in a test, or reading a book that has studying questions because keyword can help you find an answer to whatever question you may receive.
